1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of ehemehe.lk, including our website, user accounts, listings, messaging tools and related services. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Our marketplace role

EheMehe.lk is a classified advertising platform that allows users to publish and discover advertisements. Unless we expressly state otherwise, we are not the seller, buyer, owner, manufacturer, importer, agent, broker, payment provider or delivery provider for items or services listed by users.

3. Accounts and eligibility

• You must provide accurate, current information and keep your login credentials secure.
• You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account and must notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
• One person or business must not create accounts to mislead users, avoid enforcement or manipulate listings.

4. Listing rules

Listings must be truthful, lawful, placed in the correct category and supported by photos and descriptions that accurately represent the advertised item or service.

Prohibited conduct and content

• Illegal, stolen, counterfeit, dangerous, restricted or rights-infringing goods and services.
• Misleading prices, false claims, copied identities, fake availability, bait advertising or hidden mandatory charges.
• Duplicate or repetitive ads, keyword stuffing, unrelated images, spam and attempts to manipulate search results.
• Content that is abusive, discriminatory, sexually exploitative, threatening, defamatory or invasive of another person's privacy.
• Requests for passwords, PINs, OTPs, banking credentials or other information that is not reasonably necessary for a legitimate transaction.

Additional category-specific rules may apply. Users are responsible for complying with Sri Lankan law and any licensing, registration, tax, consumer, vehicle, property or professional requirements relevant to a listing.

5. Transactions between users

Prices, inspections, payment, collection, delivery, warranties, returns and disputes are arranged directly between users. EheMehe.lk does not guarantee that a user, listing, item, service, payment or transaction is genuine, safe, available or suitable.

Never send an advance payment merely to reserve an item unless you have independently verified the other party and accept the risk. For high-value transactions, use written documentation and obtain professional advice where appropriate.

6. Review, approval and moderation

We may review, approve, reject, edit, limit, pause, remove or re-categorize listings to protect users, enforce these terms, comply with law or improve platform quality. A submitted ad may remain pending until approved. When a published ad is edited, it may return to pending review and will only become public again after approval.

Approval does not mean that we have inspected, verified, endorsed or guaranteed the listing or the seller.

7. Fees and promoted services

Standard listing access may be offered free of charge. Optional promoted or premium services may have fees displayed before purchase. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, a promotion fee is not refundable after the promotional service has started or been delivered.

8. User content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you create. By uploading content, you grant EheMehe.lk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display and distribute that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, market and improve the service.

You must have permission to use all photos, logos, text, trademarks and other content included in your listing. The EheMehe name, logo, interface and original platform materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free operation, listing accuracy, user identity, transaction completion or the quality, safety, legality or ownership of advertised items and services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EheMehe.lk will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from user conduct, listings, communications, payments, delivery, data loss, unauthorized access or transactions between users. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate accounts, listings or access where we reasonably believe there is fraud, abuse, repeated rule-breaking, risk to users, legal non-compliance or interference with platform security. Users may stop using the service at any time and may request account assistance through our contact channels.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. The parties should first attempt to resolve concerns through good-faith communication. Subject to applicable consumer rights and mandatory law, disputes may be submitted to courts of competent jurisdiction in Sri Lanka.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our services, safety requirements or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by law.
